I haven't always been a whiskey guy! In my early 20's my buddies and I would get together for poker nights and they would all bring bourbon and scotch (mostly peated). I would be clueless but interested, well ultimately a good cigar and a glass of Bulleit put me on a whiskey path that would only pick up momentum.
From there I would continue to explore different bottles, take trips into Kentucky and soak up as much information as I could about all things whiskey.
Eventually my bar grew and from there I started to play around with blending. I would mix two bourbons together and see if I could make anything special because I was broke and couldn't afford special bottles. My first and one of my favorite blends was Woodford Reserve Double Oaked and Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon, this felt like an expensive bottle, "Rare Reserve".
After sharing countless blends with others, I was pushed into sharing blends online and @WhiskeyBlending101 was born. This is a hobby that has become a passion that has become a fun way to interact with other whiskey lovers like myself.
